Obverse: Design with brown as predominant color with frame-like border. On the right, portrait of Simon Bolivar inside an oval from unknown author. On the left, the denomination value "100". In the center, the denomination in words "CIEN BOLÍVARES" with the payment clause "PAGADEROS AL PORTADOR EN LAS OFICINAS DEL BANCO" below. On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA" with a serial number in each side. In each corner, the denomination value "100".
Reverse: Design with brown as predominant color with frame-like border. In the center, Monument to Carabobo by Antonio Rodríguez del Villar, site which Bolívar achieved the independence of Venezuela on June 24th 1821. On the left, inside a circle, the Coat of Arms Coat of Arms. On the right, the denomination value "100". On the top, the issuer name "BANCO CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA". On the bottom, the denomination in words "CIEN BOLÍVARES". In each corner, the denomination value "100".
Common name: This design had as common name "Orejón" (big ears) and it was retired out of circulation early because the inhabitants rejected the exaggerated and ugly engraving of Simon Bolivar
