  • Obverse: Circular rim without beading. In the center, over the field, bust of Simon Bolivar facing right with "BARRE" below (from the original engraver). In the ring, On the top, "BOLÍVAR" and "LIBERTADOR" on the bottom.
  • Reverse: Circular rim with dentacles beading. In the center, over the field above the denomination unit "BOLÍVARES": On the left, body of the Coat of Arms; On the right, the value "1000". Surrounding the field, the legend "REPÚBLICA BOLIVARIANA DE VENEZUELA" «Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela». In the exergue, the year.
  • Curiosity: Beginning the circulation of these coins at the end of 2006, there was a rumor that they were being recalled because the wrong facing of the horse in the Coat of Arms. However, since these coins were authorized to be minted in 2005, before the reformed "Flag, Anthem and Coat of Arms Act" done in 2006, the design guideline should follow the predecessor Act, which the horse is facing left instead of right in the new act.
