Website that catalogs and shows information about coins and banknotes from Venezuela, to help the difusion of this patrimony to the world and our country. The information contained in this website is in constant expansion. Maybe there are some rare pieces that are not in the catalog, mostly specimen notes, notes issued before 1940, banknotes design proof and coin patterns. We welcome any comments, corrections, new information or pictures. Due to the dynamic of numismatic market, this site cannot provide the value of numismatic pieces. There are some catalogs that may help to get an approximate value, which is listed at Bibliography inside the References section. Proposal of conditions to establish Low and High serial number January 22nd, 2012 Since several years, We have not found any good information that states when a banknote serial number is Low serial or high serial. There are many known conditions which varies by collectors.Due to this situation, we developed some conditions that can be used to know whether a banknote is Low serial or High serial, based on known conditions, but estabishing a relationship to the amount of banknote issues (details on Relative amount of low and high serial number). The event will be held in Centro Profesional y Comercial Milenium, Terraza Nivel Feria. Strange case of small serial letter in 2 Bolívares Fuerte banknote date Diciembre 2008 January 22nd, 2012 
From reports of Emilio Orta and Ivan León, we noticed two cases with similar serial number (Z00687484 y Z00687154) where the letter prefix of the serial number is small in comparison with other banknotes nearby (Z00687499) which the letter prefix is large like all the banknotes of the serie. It's possible that this maybe due to a numbering machine error. The piece was catalogued as bbcv2bsf-ab01r,e. Case with small letter prefix
